My mom and I came in to Victoria, BC in late June with the intent of exploring Port Renfrew (“Renny” to the locals). Day Trip Drea was booked to be our host on a number of guided hikes. She was not only a fantastic guide who knew some truly breathtaking places to hike, she was a charming and friendly person who helped direct us to our best possible experience in Canada. We both had a lot of fun and really recommend her trip to Sombrio Beach, Avatar, and other local beauties. She brought a wonderful homemade lunch (no white bread with cold cuts to be found here, folks!) to our adventures and went at our own pace. We loved our trip to BC and it’s all due to Drea! If you love animals, be sure to ask her to bring her two lovely dogs, Sage and Nootka, along for your hike!

My friend and I had such an amazing two day-trips with Drea, seeing century-old cedars, rivers, Sombreo beach, and a remote waterfall in a cave. Her precious dog, Sage, accompanied us. Drea is delightful, thoughtful, considerate, fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her as a hiking guide. She tailored our trips to fit our needs and preferences, and immediately felt like an easy friend! On a score of 1 to 10, 10 being best, I give her a 15! So skilled and pleasant, she made each day trip the most fun adventure!!

Oh, Drea…What a wonderful two days of hiking and exploring with you and your loyal dog Sage. The first day at Sombrio Beach was amazing. Who would know one could be on a typical Vancouver Island beach, then follow a streamlet from the beach up to a stunning waterfall. The second day to the Avatar, to hike down through a “primeval” forest, where nothing seemed to be touched, and God’s perfect creation was left to be in its pristine state…just breathtaking. We loved talking with you and also hearing the wonderful tidbits of knowledge that only a local resident could possibly know. You were a delight, and we also loved your sweet “bear” Sage. If we are fortunate enough to get to come here again, we shall look forward to hiking with you again!

What an adventure! I felt like a kid again as we crouched under centuries old trees while exploring the seemingly forgotten trailS in the back country. It was no wonder why our small group kept referencing movie sets when it came to the scenery and terain. It was such a good trip and you are the perfect host/guide. Thank you for your professionalism and enthusiasm. It really helped set the tone and atmosphere for which we all were able to feed off of. I will be back next year!!

Drea took 4 middle age folks on a big tree tour last week. We really wanted to see the largest Douglas firs and cedars. She totally listened to us and took us on a fantastic day trip. We were so grateful for her competence in managing the logging roads in her 4 wheel drive vehicle. She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend her tour company. We will absolutely go out with her again the next time we are in Pt Renfrew! 5 star experience!
