One of the most rewarding thanks I’ve ever received 🙂

The three days I got to spend on the Juan de Fuca trail with you (as well as Missy, Sage, and Rosie) was an absolutely incredible learning experience. I learned as much about myself as I did the local flora and fauna. Through hiking the trail I became more aware of the unrelenting power of Mother Nature; exhibited by massive dead fall and washed-out hillsides caused by the winter storms. The improvisational aspect of being in the wilderness alongside the unpredictable stubbornness of the strait (if you recall our wicked tuna sesh on China Beach) have helped me to appreciate the effort and the adventure that goes into getting anywhere (even though Sombrio was a hell of a destination).
I was also rather surprised by the rush or ambition the hike sparked in me, but I know it made me want to go further. Long after my short stay on the island I would find myself picking up litter or gazing at the sky knowing that my appreciation for the natural and living was perpetuated and amplified by the eye-opening trek we had. These lessons continue to resonate profoundly with me time and time again in everyday life and I’ve never been so sure of a good thing. My weekend spent hiking the Juan de Fuca trail was truly an adventure I will not ever forget and I’ve got you to thank for it, Drea!:)

I really appreciate the time you gave to us and the experience you shared with us. Your guiding abilities are truly amazing, the knowledge and respect of the land you carry with you is endless and it has, beyond any doubt, motivated me to find something that intrinsically satisfies me the way you have yourself.
