Sombrio Beach is a favorite of the locals and holds a history not quite like the other beaches on the West Coast. Sombrio has awesome free falling and hidden waterfalls. It has caves, prehistorical bugs, three beaches to explore, and a fresh water river that can be crossed by tree or suspension bridge. Only a 15 minute walk through the giant trees, ferns, and moss will get you from the day trip van to the west coast beach. Your guide will tell you all about the plant, sea and wild life you see around you, the mountain range in the distance, and some well known stories of a time when Sombrio was home to a community of people.
